The area of Suomenniemi is located in south-eastern Finland, in the region of South Savo. The area is surrounded by stunning natural sceneries and lakes, the largest of which are the lakes of Kuolimo and Saimaa. Suomenniemi is a paradise for hikers, nature-lovers and hunters alike. Anyone is free to pick the berries and mushrooms growing in the forests. A new sight-seeing tower offers magnificent views accross the impressive pine forests and blue lakes. A permit is required to hunt the elk and other game roaming the forests, but visitors can join one of the hunting safaris arranged in the wilds.

Sight-seeing tower
Magnificent views accross the Kuolimo lake scenery. Lean-to for overnight stays in the nature.
Located 1 km from the highway 13. Turn to left from Kirkonkyläntie right after the crossroad of Välitie and continue 600 meters. Open for visitors.

Domestic animal yard
The domestic animal yard is open during summer, 10.6.-17.7.2010 from Thu-Sat at 12-16. Entrance fee 2 euros, under three-year old children for free. You can ride horses, stroke goats, other farm animals and pets. A souvenir shop is also available.
